About Us

Art You Can Type On

ResinCraft started in 2022 as a small Etsy shop run out of a home workshop. The idea was simple: what if your keyboard could tell a story? Not with stickers or printed designs, but with actual three-dimensional worlds sitting right where your fingers land.

What started as a hobby quickly turned into something bigger. Orders picked up, repeat customers started showing up, and we realized we'd outgrown what Etsy could offer. So in 2026 we launched this site to give our keycaps a proper home, with better photos, faster checkout, and a shopping experience we actually have control over.

Every keycap we make begins as a hand-sculpted miniature. Tiny figures, landscapes, and structures are shaped from polymer clay, painted with acrylics under a magnifying lamp, and then carefully arranged inside a silicone mold. The resin pour comes last: layers of tinted and clear resin, each one cured before the next, building depth that you can see through from every angle.

We design every cap to play nice with RGB backlighting. The translucent resin base acts as a light pipe, channeling your keyboard's glow up through the scene. A fire-themed keycap actually looks like it's burning. An ocean scene gets that deep-water shimmer. It's the kind of detail that only shows up when you're using the thing.

Our Process

1

Sculpting

Each character and landscape element is hand-sculpted from polymer clay. We work under magnification to get the fine details: facial expressions, texture on rock formations, individual flower petals. This stage alone can take a couple hours.

2

Painting

Once cured, every piece gets hand-painted with acrylic pigments. Multiple thin layers build up color depth. We seal the paint with a micro-thin clear coat so it stays vibrant inside the resin forever.

3

Resin Pouring

The sculpted and painted elements are placed into a custom silicone mold, then we pour artisan resin in multiple layers. Each layer gets a precise amount of tint for color depth, and each one cures before the next goes in. Rushing this step means bubbles and cloudiness, so we don't rush.

4

Finishing

After full cure (24+ hours), we demold, sand through multiple grits, and polish to optical clarity. A UV-resistant clear coat goes on last to prevent yellowing. Then we test the fit on a Cherry MX switch and check the RGB light transmission before it leaves the workshop.
